Fruit producers in Moldova have invested heavily in table grape cultivation in recent years. One exporter says they have achieved their first harvest using the Pergola support system, which allows them to supply more than 1,000 tonnes per season.
According to Lidia Ionaș, export broker and marketing specialist for the Moldovan fruit exporter Ionex-Trans, "significant investments have been made in recent years to modernize table grape orchards. With the introduction of the Pergola and Gable systems, producers are able to obtain higher volumes of premium-quality grapes. Thanks to the technologies implemented within the company, as well as international certifications confirming product traceability, Ionex can export its grapes to the most demanding EU markets, including Germany, Spain and France."

Ionaș states that this is their first harvest of table grapes grown using the Pergola system. "The company, founded in 2001, is one of the leading fruit exporters in the Republic of Moldova, producing plums, apricots and table grapes. The fruit is stored, sorted and packed in accordance with the most rigorous international standards. This year, Ionex expects its first Pergola-grown table grape harvest to reach more than 1,000 tonnes of grapes from Moldova."
"We hold GlobalG.A.P. and GRASP certifications for all our fruit, which means we take responsibility for what reaches the end consumer. We are consistent and reliable, and our work is based on trust, continuity and long-term cooperation. The grapes are sorted and packed in 6 kg cardboard boxes, wooden crates of 8 kg, or flow-pack trays of 1-2 kg, depending on customer requirements."

"Ionex-Trans also has solid experience in exporting fruit to the European Union. Its products have been shipped to Romania, Germany, France, Poland, the Russian Federation and many other markets. This allows the company to meet the requirements of buyers across different markets and sales channels, including modern retail," concludes Ionaș.
